From their more than two-decade-long marriage, the pair has welcomed two kids together. They first welcomed their first child, a son, Edward McHale in 2005.

His first child was born with two large holes in his heart. During infancy, he had to undergo open-heart surgery. His second child was also a son, Isaac McHale, who was born in 2008. His second son was born a year prior to his breakout role in the sitcom, Community.
