The late actor Reed attended Muskogee High School. Later, he enrolled at the Northwesterrn University in order to study drama. Then, he went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

6 feet 3 inches tall Robert Reed was a married man. He exchanged wedding vows with Marilyn Rosenberger on July 14, 1954.

Together, the duo welcomed their only child, a daughter named Karen Rietz in 1956. Later, on July 10, 1959, the pair divorced.

After that, Reed disclosed he was gay and kept the secret with the fear of thinking his sexual orientation would completely destroy his career.

Cause Of Death

Robert was 59 years of age when he died. Back in November 1991, he suffered from colon cancer and died at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California on May 12, 1992.

Initially, Reed was said to lose his life from cancer, but as per his death certificate, he died due to HIV/AIDS. To date, the real reason behind his demise is yet unknown.
